Cross section of the Bamenda Congress Hall with Flames upstage |
Sunday July 6, 2014, goes into record as one day that
brought thousands of Youths from around Bamenda to challenge themselves with
issues of unemployment. A brain child of the African dream Network through its faith
based DRIMP Foundation, the Youth come together baptized Bamenda Youth Enlarged
Forum showcased plenty of talents in different areas particularly music,
theater and comedy.
Coordinated by two young, charismatic and dynamic radio
personalities in the Northwest Region (Awah Mike NDEFCAM and Zita Aliah Radio
Hot Cocoa) the Bamenda Youth Enlarged Forum kicked off with Pastor Roland
Nkemasong Manager of the DRIMP Foundation outlining the objectives of the
Foundation anchored mainly on the formation of spiritually sound and responsible
youths for gainful employment
Speaking later In a Key note presentation, the President General
of the African Dream Network Forgwe Rogers encouraged the youths to define
their purpose in life and work for it. According to Mr Forgwe no true success
can be achieved without God and so there is need for the youths to give God the
most prominent position in their lives. With this he opined, we will be building
a Cameroon free from vices like corruption, embezzlement of public funds,
bribery and others.

In the confines of a beautifully decorated Bamenda Congress
Hall, the youths shouted to the top of their voices in great appreciation of
the different activities. From the drama by Ruphinas House, music by the
flames, comedy by DR. Ngiah Ndo Potatoes and others, Bamenda Youth Enlarged
Forum 2014 became an experience many youths will remember for a longtime.
Another sensation at the Bamenda meeting was the city’s
newest and youngest musical superstar Awu! Singer of the world cup hit song “If
a can can”. To many youths Awu was a motivation by virtue of his age and daring
spirit. Talking to hilltop voices AWU explained that though he did not get to
the Federation of International Football Associations FIFA with his song, he
was happy with the response from his fans.
According to some youths we spoke to at the close of the
Forum, the event was a useful novelty and should be made frequent.
Talking to the Press Mr Forgwe Rogers disclosed that his
wish will be to see the Forum take place in other parts of Cameroon so as to reshape
the minds of young people for a more productive Cameroon.
