The Bamenda St Joseph Metropolitan Cathedral Bamenda this Friday November 14, 2014 played host to a Pontifical High Mass as part of activities leading to the final laying to rest of an illustrious son of the Kom land, Senator Bochong Francis Nkwain. In pure catholic fashion the Auxiliary Bishop to the Bamenda Archdiocese Agabitus Nfon accompanied by Bishops of Mamfe (Francis lesingue (emeritus) and Andrew Nkea (current) lead the requiem mass attended by a handful of Priests, Prime Minister and Head of Government Philemon Yang and other government functionaries.

In his message to the mourners Bishop Agabitus Nfon encouraged Christian politicians to show the light through their examples, shoulder their responsibilities with God’s guidance and practice their politics with the right conscience. According to the Bishop the church does not see politics as a dirty game but as a tool that can be used to serve many. This explains why Senator Bochong Francis has a right though a politician and traditionalist to be buried like a Catholic with Masses said for him. A Catholic Teacher as early as 15years, Senator Bochong Francis has throughout his life being at the service of the Catholic Church characterized by his unfailing attendance of morning Masses an act he performed till his last days. This Bamenda Cathedral Mass adds to the many said so far and is the first of the last three before his final interment.
Born April 19, 1830 and died October 19, 2014, the 83yrs Senator will be laid to rest Saturday November 15, 2014 in Njinikom of Kom Country his home town.
