The Northwest Region lead by its Governor early Saturday February 7, 2015 staged a solidarity walk in Bamenda in support of Cameroon soldiers and President Paul Biya in the fight against the Boko Haram insurgency in the North of the country. Taking off from three different points of the city of Bamenda, thousands assembled on the city’s main commercial street-the commercial Avenue for a brief prayer session.
The march turned out to be a perfect show of political coexistence between the government and the most populous political party in the country– the Social Democratic Front - SDF. Just like the militants who showed up for the march was the party national chair Ni John Fru Ndi.
According to the politician, there is no politics when it comes to the preservation of peace and so there is need for join efforts to work for lasting peace by combating Boko Haram. He continued his call for the Government to get the views of all opinion and political leaders in the country in the fight against Boko Haram.
