Farmers Prepare to receive Seeds |
It has become traditional in the Northwest Region and even across
Cameroon that at the beginning of the new farming season politicians
like administrators show up with seeds for farmers. One of such events
took place Thursday March 19, 2015 at the premises of the Bamenda III
Council.

When hilltopvoices stopped by to witness the event it emerged that it was a donation of a ton of maize for farmers of Bamenda III subdivision. Handing over the seeds Madam Magdalene Ambang Subdivisional Delegate for Agriculture and Rural Development told the farmers that the seeds were from her ministry and it was her minister's wish to see every women in Bamenda III get something even if it means getting just a glass.The seeds she emphasized was being handed over to farmers groups for evetual distribution to members or planting in the group's farm.

Mayor Fongu Cletus for Bamenda III Council on his part appreciated the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development for the seeds and said it was part of the on going decentralisation process in the country. According to the Mayor, the Minister's gift though highly welcomed will not be enough for Bamenda III women reason why he has decided to work with the subdivision's Women Forum for more seeds to be handed to the women on the 25th of March.
It was with visible satisfaction that the group leaders received the ATP improved maize seeds.
