By Hilltopvoices Team
Celebrating those who stand out in the Northwest Region for the purpose of encouraging others is the reason why we created this page. This week two people have made us see reason to present to you personalities and not personality of the week as has been the case.
It is therefore with a deep sense of satisfaction and for the first time that we at hilltopvoices celebrate two persons for the week just ended. Coincidental they are Women and journalists! what a coincidence. Their being women did not in anyway affect our strong commitment to the promotion of gender equality.
As you all know, the week just ended opened with commemorative activities to mark World Press Freedom Day. This may partly explain why we paid attention around the press and settled for these two journalists.
Rosaline Obah
This is her first time to be here. She is first of all a Journalist, then Communication Head of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon PCC, Communication Department for the Northwest Region. She features here this week as President of The Cameroon Association of English Speaking Journalists CAMASEJ-Northwest Chapter following what we consider as a landmark achievement by the association during this year's commemoration of World Press Freedom Day. It will not be an overstatement to say that this high level event has not taken place in the Northwest before particularly under the Association.
For the first time activities lasted for over Seven Days with members of the Association having several opportunities to access themselves in the profession for self improvement. Starting with a Press Briefing on Monday 27th, Radio talks on Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th, a workshop in the Solomon Tandeng Muna Foundation on Thursday 30th April 2015 then a working visit to the West Region on Saturday May 2nd 2015 ,before a final event attended by the top notch administration of the Northwest Region headed by the Governor Adolph Lele L'Afrique. When we attended the monthly meeting of CAMASEJ-NW for May that was on the 8th, her executive presented the events accounts which was generally accepted by the members. In all she deserves to be here noting that this has not happened before. We wish you well Madam President.
Comfort Mussa
Away from other things as written before we will like to add here that Comfort Mussa is the immediate past president of The Cameroon Association of English Speaking Journalists CAMASEJ-Northwest Chapter.
I am sure you must have read about her here before now; That tells you she is a go-getter. On the 1st of May, 2015 we read this information: (Pay some attention to the writing in Blue)
This is how far she went this first week of May, 2015. Do find time to read about her in Our previous article "Hilltopvoices Personality of the Week: Comfort Mussa.
Conclusion
What else should we celebrate if not outstanding achievements like these?
While expressing Our strongest words of Congratulations to these Journalists, we will like to invite young women particularly those who aspire to be journalists to copy these examples and try to distinguish themselves in what ever thing they do in life.
Congratulations
Rosaline Obah and Comfort Mussa
