After the arrival of material over a year ago marked by a
huge reception ceremony, many have been questioning what was happening with the
Bamenda III Sub divisional Council Water purification Plant. The fanfare that
accompanied the containers carrying the containers gave Bamenda City dwellers
the impression that water was going to be available in the next few days.

That
was not the case. First it was the paramount Fon of Nkwen His Majesty Azehfor
III who needed some cleansing before work could begin. Imported by the Bamenda
III Sub divisional Council, Mayor Fingu Cletus constantly came on focus as city
dwellers raised worries over the heralded plant. Mayor Fongu provided answers
saying that his German partners where yet to complete the material and then
send engineers for the installation of the plant.

Last June a set of consignment arrived and the Mayor declared
that it was the last set of materials required for the installation of the
plant. Friday September 7, 2015, five German experts arrived the municipality.
Their mission according to Mayor Fongu is to install the Council Water
Purification Plant.

The experts after arrival immediately went to work on
Saturday with the transportation of the imported materials from the council
premises to the installation site. Over 20 general labourers and Council staff
accompanied the Germans in the transportation which went on till 8pm.

The German experts who are respecting a plan expected to last
for exactly three weeks, insisted to raise the suction tanks on day one.
Though on his way to the Philippines for an important
development meeting expected to last for about a week, Mayor Fongu Cletus, told
The Guardian Post on phone that he was particular concerned about the water
project which he expects to put an end to the water problems in his
municipality.

He indicated that he has hired a lot of local labour to assist
the experts meet their target. He further noted that his wish is to have the
water ready for extension to houses and eventual consumption by the end of the
Month.
