The Nation mourns 76 departed compatriots who died in Mina Stampede

The people of the Northwest Region joins the rest of Cameroon this October 16, 2015 to mourn 76 nationals who died in the Mina stampede while performing the Hajj. The National Day of mourning is contained in a presidential decree signed Thursday October 15, 2015 by the President of the Republic Paul Biya.

According to Cameroon's Minister of Communication Issa Tchiroma Bakari, the September 24, 2015 incidence claimed the lives of 76 Cameroons with 30 others yet to be accounted for. Describing the incident as sad, the minister said the Government will in the days ahead hand over financial assistance to the affected families. 
The names of the dead have not been made public so far.
