Bamenda Archbishop in Futru Parish for Pastoral Work

The Archbishop of Bamenda has ended a pastoral visit to St Michael's Parish Futru Nkwen. His Grace Cornelius Fontem Essua who was on his annual pastoral journal across his archdiocese was in Futru from the 12th to the 15th of  November 2015.  During his stay in the Parish, The Archbishop visited Mission Stations, schools and other services under his spiritual care. The visit also gave the leader of the Roman Catholic Church in Bamenda an opportunity to administer the sacrament of confirmation to hundreds of Catholics who were longing for spiritual growth.

In his homily on the last day of his visit to the Parish, The Archbishop noted that 'to be a good Christian and a good Catholic you must be a good witness of Christ." While expressing joy for the his successful stay in the parish His Grace Fontem Essua on The Sacrament of confirmation said the holy spirit comes on the receiving christian like it came on the Apostles and consequently all those who receive this sacrament of the Church are expected to be true witnesses of Christ in word and action.

Coming at the time the Church was facing some challenges with the community, The Archbishop advised the Christians to understand the Church as the Body of Christ and thus everyone in the Church becomes part of the body irrespective of tribal origin. According to the Archdiocese when you stay away from the Church by virtue of your action; you disable the Church. 
The Church leader ended his stay with visits to some families amongst them the Nkwen Fons Palace.
