The North West regional delegate for Social
affairs has not been seen since he left a funeral ceremony in Ashong village in
Batibo sub division Momo division in the early hours of Saturday February 24.
Animbom Aaron who has been serving in that capacity for just slightly about two
months left the funeral ground with his driver in his service car only for the
car to be seen later burnt.
At the time of this report, sources say his
driver was in police custody in Batibo but we have not been able to get what he
said happened to his boss and the car.
Talking to the State broadcaster CRTV, the
Senior Divisional Officer SDO for Momo Absaloum Monono Wolua intimated that he
was taken away by armed individuals who had followed him from the funeral
ground on a motorcycle. The SDO adds that after taking him away his car was set
ablaze. He however did not explain how the driver was seen but said there was a
rigorous search for the missing official and one other.
No one has claimed responsibility of the
missing delegate or the burnt car. It is the second incident in the same locality
with the first being the disappearance of the Divisional Officer for Batibo whose
where about is not known several weeks after.
The missing delegate who hails from Belo
subdivision in Boyo Division is married and father of three.
