“I must be a happy person to be sincere except otherwise. As u can see physically I am very joyful. It’s a merited victory and we worked for it. I am just so happy. From the first day our main objective was Elite Two and so we knew we had to go stage after stage. That is how we have been preparing and I appreciate the players for putting in much effort. They have sacrificed a lot and it has paid us today.” Ngwa Remy Coach for Rainbow FC who lost the finals in 2016 as Coach for Hilltop Strikers said.
Nwela Ernest football Coach with Grassland FC of Nkwen described Rainbow’s victory as merited. He however encouraged the team for working this hard despite the crisis but expressed the need for the team to begin work for the National tournament immediately. He advised “the goalkeeping department and the defensive department require some good scouting to re-enforce the team.”
Rainbow Coach however reacted to this saying “Our target is Elite Two as we leave the NW Region. You know football nowadays doesn’t go with the older age. We prefer to drill the younger age and so far we have been succeeding and we will continue. We don’t hope to do some changes in terms of players; we just have to keep on working. We just pray that management gives us enough time, we will keep on working with the players.

According to Yoye Blaise team Manager for rainbow FC, the Victory and qualification was not a surprise “because before the start of the season I really prepared and I saw myself due to the preparation I made I knew I will go for the Interpools and represent the region,”
In the last three football seasons with two National Interpools played with the exception of the 2016/2017 season, all North West Representatives that is PWD Bamenda 2014-2015 and Bang Bullet of Nkambe 2015-2016 qualified for Elite Two. With this trend taken my representatives of the NW, the pressure on Rainbow Fc may be high. The Manager of Rainbow admits this but says “I cannot put the region down. I will qualify and even do better than what others did.”
The Northwest Mimi Interpools thus closes the football season in the region that brought together 16teams with old hands like Rangers FC of Bafut, Kumbo Strikers, Tatecam FC, Kum Mt Rangers and others.
