The match to begin at 3pm local
time in Yaoundé is the fruit of a discussion with the foundation of Cameroon
international Idris Carlos Kameni as part of preparations for the second round
U23 AFCON qualifier against Tunisia scheduled for September 6 in Yaounde.
According to the U23 trainer
Rigobert Song Bahanag, the 2000 Olympic Games gold medallist home base
selection will play the Kameni Foundation as a way of evaluation after four
days in Camp.
Justifying the training he said
“The training session is important for home players because the national league
has not started and they need to keep fit. So we have to bring them together
for some time before the other professionals coming from outside join them.”
The players
are in camp till September 11 during which they will play home and away matches
against Tunisia U23 on September 6 and 11 respectively.
The game
against Tunisia U23 comes after the cancellation of two earlier fixtures
against Sierra Leone.
Cameroon
qualified for the second round after beating Chad 4-1 on aggregate.
