Fans and supporters of Foncha Street FC of Bamenda North West representative at this year’s National Inter-pool have emptied and entire drinking spot in Bertoua of all drinks after their club opened their campaign at the competition with an emphatic 3-1 win against Etoile Filante of Garoua.
The jubilating fans who had no respected for
choices at a certain time of the drinking night described the win by their club
as thrilling and unbelievable.Fans and supporters of Foncha Street FC of Bamenda North West representative at this year’s National Inter-pool have emptied and entire drinking spot in Bertoua of all drinks after their club opened their campaign at the competition with an emphatic 3-1 win against Etoile Filante of Garoua.
“Our team
prepared well but we did not know we will have such beautiful and easy walk
over a club ike Etoile Filante of Garoua. Who does not know Abdurahaman
Hamadou? He is the president of Etoile Filante and we know that he had the
means to win that game even from the office because he is a man of law. I am
drinking in celebration of this great victory and also to distract ourselves
from the problems at home.” Michael Chin a supporter who travelled from Yaoundé
for the game said
The Fans and
Supporters of Foncha Street Fc were joined in the feast by their English
speaking brothers from the South West who have come to support PWD Kumba ahead
of their opening game on Tuesdays August 27.
“We are one
people from the North West and South West and so we are celebrating the victory
of our brothers from the North West with the home and prayer that we will get
our blessing to win our game on Tuesday against Bertoua.” Kingsley PWD Kumba
fan said emptying a bottle of beer.
The Bar
dealer admits that it was a good business day but adds that they didn’t expect
so much consumption. “This is the first time I am selling all drinks in the bar
since I started nine years ago. I have over 20crates of drinks which are
finished. I will have to get more drinks tomorrow.” she said

The North
West flag bearers at this year’s national Inter-pool in Bertoua have taken a
strong option towards grabbing one of three available tickets for the
Professional League Two Championship next season. A hat trick from Brilant Awah
Mukala Tanwie 7” 40” and 56” was good
enough to render irrelevant a goal by Étoile Filante of Garoua’ Emmanuel Jojo
54” ending the score line at 3-1 in favour of the Bamenda team.
“We have
been working very hard because we knew we had a difficult competition in front
of us. We are not bordered about the next match that is coming because our
objective is to take one match after the other. As we have passed this stage
our focused is the next game on Saturday” Terence Chianian team captain for Foncha Street celebrates
confidently.
Nick
Riccardo Djipooya captain for Étoile Filante of Garoua feels disappointed but
not ready to give up yet. “All the same it is a football match and we came out
losers. That doesn’t mean the competition is finished. We will double our
efforts and see where we went wrong so as to prepare and win the second match.
It is true that our first 11 was not complete because some players were
suspended including the first Goal keeper who was not there. Surely by the next
match they will be with us and we will do our best.”
Coach Alioum
Kada Joel of Etoile Filante will have to deploy unmatched tact if he must win
against fresh comers Mercure de Bafia representatives of the Center Region who
were on standby this Sunday. Coach Anumewa Frankline of Foncha Street on his
part will simply sit and wait for the outcome of that match to decide what
result to play for.
Foncha
Street FC with the win now commands Pool C with 3pts +2 goals followed by
beaten Etoile Filante of Garoua no point -2 goals. Mercure de Bafia tails the pool with two
matches still to go.
The pool
returns to action on Wednesday August 28.
