From
Mbuo Melani Mafisah in Bamenda
Not just was
his project very new and surprising also was his mastery of his subject.
Ngouanam explained stage by stage everything used in his drone manufacturing
process. Many who were watching the recorded and projected manufacturing
process shouted in excitement when the blades on his drone started turning. The
young man had cut his hand in the process and even received discouragement from
close ones but he went on. He publicly expressed his desire to be an inventor
and to achieve that he has adopted the motto which encourages him to test, fail,
improve and achieve. While encouraging everyone to dare in doing something new,
he expressed gratitude to the Ichoose Leadership Value Program for making him a
leader in the society.
The unusual
certificate conferment event last Saturday 17 August in Bamenda saw the
graduation of 16 young leaders who had ended their leadership training course.
Prior to receiving their end of course certificates, the visibly elated young men
and women showcase what they have gained as knowledge from the tuition free
training in separate presentations.
Addressing
the 2nd convocation, Madam Koti Immaculate Bih, a certified John Maxwell
trainer, leadership coach, trainer and
speaker noted that "Everything rises and falls on leadership.” The Ichoose
Leadership Value program she explained is to wipe the negative mentality youths
have about leadership and that leadership is influence and not position. She
used her styled “Leadership compass" to explain the different types of
leaderships pointing out; Self leadership, positional leadership, peer
leadership and leading up or influencing influencers leadership which is the
highest of all leadership.
Due to her
sentimental attachment to good conduct and quality leadership, she prescribed creativity,
service to others, honesty and modesty to the graduands and people present
indicating that the level of leadership start in self-leadership and that
leadership is influence to influence people in the society.
She
challenged the graduating young leaders to avoid the temptation of following
the train of bribery and corruption which certainly is not a practice of good
leadership.
“I was
disappointed by my friends and so got angry and disturb until he exploit the
leadership value of forgiveness and is in this program I learned to forgive
one another and felt inner peace within me" Mbah Blaise a graduate said
Corroborating,
Tamanji Ariane thanked the certified trainer Koti Immaculate Bih for her
tenacity “I had friends and they were like sister and closed but when my father
died, none came and when I asked they all gave me excuses so I got angry but
after I exploit the leadership value of relationship ,I came to understand that all what was needed
was to build bridges and not walls meaning I needed to minimise the
relationship I had with them and maximise the ones that are important because
we all need s one another. So with leadership value relationship I have created
good friends and I feel good about myself and I encourage other youths to catch
the wheel of leadership and achieve their full potentials"
John C.
Maxwell whose leadership values and concepts are transmitted during the program,
is a pastor, writer and author who loves developing environment and adding
value to people who want to make a different in life in all parts of the world
and so came up with the theme of "catch the wheel of leadership".
The Ichoose
program is graduating the 2nd batch while the 3rd is already receiving
training. The training session cover a period of four months.
