The Bamenda III Subdivisional Council has announce financial suport for some 1000 persons in the municipality. The announcement was made Tuesday August 25, 2020 during a meeting between the Mayor of the Council area and some community collaborators to discuss the way forward for the project.
According to Mayor Fongu Cletus Tanwe, the Safety Net Project to be implemented in his municipality in collaboration with the World Bank seeks to assist those living in abject poverty.
The Mayor has disclosed that the project will be piloted in some 12 quarters of the municipality and the beneficiaries will be chosen by a group of 48 selectors identified by the Council. The pilot phase will last for a year as from the start period. The program he said will be inclusive.
