Barrister Dieudonne N Nfor is now a full-fledged member of the Cameroon Bar Association. The fresh legal mind was sworn in alongside sixteen others before the North West Court of Appeal in Bamenda on April 9, 2021.
Speaking to this reporter shortly after his swearing-in, he expressed a lot of joy describing the day as a rare moment in his life.
"I am extremely happy.This is a rare moment in my life to turn a new page and I pray that the purpose for which I am sworn is achieved" he said
Called to the Bar at a time injustice tramples over justice in society, Barrister Nfor is conscious and intimates that he will not sit and watch injustice prevail which is a disservice to the purpose of legal training.
"We are trained as lawyers because injustice prevails. If you are trained to defend the voice of the voiceless and you fail to do it, you are doing injustice to the profession. I don't think I will be one of those lawyers who will do injustice to my profession"
The newest Counsel also sounded very enthusiastic with his greatest desire being that the society is served with justice.
“I look up to God for more wisdom that can enable me do what the society wants-that justice prevails at all time, even if it means going extra miles”, he added
Conscious of stonewalls on the path of getting justice done, the learned counsel is upbeat.
“Fighting injustice is a very difficult task but I have been equipped with the necessary instruments and I am ready for the task ahead"
Looking back at the road covered, Barrister D.N Nfor admitted that it hasn't been a bed of roses all along getting to where he is.
"It was not easy getting to this day. This profession needs a lot of patience, lot of concentration and a lot of financial resources which is not easy to mobilise in a country marred by economic hardship. But thank God, with the support of family and good will people, I was able to sail through"
Barrister Dieudonne N Nfor holds a Bachelor's degree in English Private Law from the University of Yaounde II Soa. He attended the Nigerian School in Abuja. Upon graduation in September 2020, he was called to the Nigerian Bar Association as an Advocate/Solicitor.
Prior to pursuing a career in the legal corps, the Barrister-at-law had served the community in several capacities. He is former general president of Wimbum Students Union (WISU),former Surveyor with World Health Organization (WHO),former director of Extramural Evening College (EEC) Azire-Bamenda,former principal of Shalom Progressive Academy Azire-Bamenda.
He is currently the founding chairman of Association of Underprivileged Children (ASUC)-a not for profit charity organization.
