The Governor of the North West Region has received the first anti-COVID-19 vaccine in the region. Lele L'Afrique Adolph Tchoffo Deben received the vaccine Wednesday April 14, 2021 in Bamenda shortly after the public presentation of the regional quota of the Sinorpharm vacxines.
Alongside the region's topmost administrator were the regional delegate for Public Health Dr Chr Soh Kingsley, the Director of the Bamenda regional hospital Dr Nsame Denis amongst others including some health personnel. MISANTE Facebook page indicates

According to the Regional delegate for Public Health, Health personnel are the primary target for a start mindful of their level of exposure. The delegate has also disclosed that the North West has 24 vaccination sites in the 20 health districts.
While the vaccines will be dispatched progressively to other sites, the three sites in Bamenda have already kick-off vaccination with health workers.
11400 doses have been given to the North West from a total 200.000 received as a donation to Cameroon from China.
The availability of the vaccines however do not cancel the respect for countermeasures against the deadly virus.
83 066 have so far been tested in the region with 4580 positive cases, 3774 recovered, 633 active cases and 173 deaths recorded so far.
