The Archbishop of Bamenda has ordained 25 deacons for the two dioceses under his pastoral care. The Most Reverend Andrew Nkea ordained the new deacons on Tuesday June 29, 2021 at the St Joseph Metropolitan Cathedral Big Mankon Bamenda.
The ordination takes place on the solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul Of the 25 newly ordained, eight are for the Diocese of Mamfe where Archbishop Nkea is Administrator and 17 for Bamenda where he is the seating metropolitan Archbishop.

His Grace Andrew Nkea Archbishop has cautioned the reverend deacons to be ambassadors of Church teachings and all that the Church stands for.
The many who turned out for the ordination Mass have shown satisfaction with the number ordained describing it as uncommon.
As deacons, they have received the powers to perform activities like funeral and burial rites, distribute communion, baptise, preach and witness marriages with the exception celebrate Mass.
