Hilltopvoices NW chief correspondent has shared his arrest and detention story with colleagues and media professionals in Bamenda. Wawa Jackson Nfor who spent close to three years in detention Nkambe was speaking during the maiden edition of Hilltopvoices Coffee Friday. He was arrested Nkambe after attending a community function in his native Tabeken village as he prepared to return to Bamenda where he was working.
The tear-provoking narration revealed instances of torture, detention incommunicado, blackmail, conspiracy, misleading, lies, denial, political score settling and yet unprecedented media and community support.
The pen soldier despite all these showed resilience while taking the side of truth with respect to justice. The visibly fast recovering Wawa has resumed work especially following the unflinching support showed him by his people and the Media family.
"During my Fon's visit to Bamenda he personally advised me to let go everything and pickup the broken pieces put them together and move forward.". Wawa said.
Hilltopvoices promoter and Manager Bakah Derick has explained that the Hilltopvoices Coffee Friday is an initiative to permit his collaborators if possible other media professionals from other organisations relax at the end of the working week and share work challenges with the hope of finding a solution together ahead of the new week."
"Should there be a guest to share ideas with the team just like a sponsor for this activity we will be very happy." He added.
