Delegates from the North West Regional league of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) have made another electoral mistake. They had opening declared their their support for incumbent Seidou Mbombo Njoya in a declaration signed by the league President.
Following elections this Saturday 11 December 2021, Samuel Eto'o Fils got a convincing win of 43 to 31 votes against Seidou Mbombo Njoya.
Hilltopvoices has it on good authority that in December 2018, the North West delegation after a late night meeting settled for Joseph Antoine Bell. He will later be beaten by Seidou Mbombo Njoya one of the many reasons the region has been left in the dark in the last three years.
We shall not waste your precious time with how much the North West delegation has gone too and fro on which candidate to back but the final decision announced in Garoua has gone the wrong way.
However after the decision was taken, one of the frustrated delegates spoke to Hilltopvoices on that famous December 5 expressing anger as to why the pronouncements were made without his/her consent. It is likely the delegate voted against the wish of the North West league leadership. Another source has confirmed to Hilltopvoices that another delegate rejected the offer by the league leadership and even top state functionaries who were in favour of Seidou.
What is public is the declaration but who effectively voted who remains a matter of conjecture worst still when the electoral commission presented a single ballot paper.
The highly contested election results has pulled thousands out on the streets of Yaounde specially around the Tshinga area where the FA headquarters is situated.
