At least one Anglophone will be in the transitional committee charged with the organisation of the elite championships in the country.
Mbella Moki Charles was surprisingly presented as member of the transitional committee on Friday 25 February 2022 in Yaounde during the installation of officials of the structure to be led by General Pierre Semengue.
An earlier undated decision by the president of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) appointing members of the transitional body did not have the name of the former Mayor of Buea nor any anglophone. This received huge criticism on social media. The President of the football governing body did not however say whether the name was an addition in response to the critiques or an earlier omission.
Mbella Moki Charles is not a new name in Cameroon Football cycles. He has served as vice President of the football federation and President of the South West regional league.
