The management of Mitanyen Cooperative Credit Union (MitaCCUL) has extended words of encouragement to PWD social football club of Bamenda ahead of their Cameroon Cup final against Astre of Douala this Sunday 13 March 2022 in Yaounde.

Speaking in Bamenda just shortly before departure to Yaounde for the soccer showdown to take place at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium, the President of the micro financial institution being the official sponsor, said his institution is wishing the Abakwa Boys nothing away from a victory.
"We have just one wish. That the team should perform well, that they should be covered by the blood of Jesus. No mishap should befall the team and they should have only one focus which is the trophy and we come back with it tomorrow." Muluh Standley said
He also announced the sponsoring of fans to attend the final and an undisclosed surprise for the team should they win the trophy.
MitaCCUL is one of the sponsors of PWD Bamenda and according to the union's President, their decision to sponsor the team was inspired by the fact that the team is the people's team and with the Union sharing the same vision, it was important to unit and work for the interest of the people.
"You know as I do that PWD Bamenda is the people's team and you equally know that MitaCCUL is the people's financial institution. That is where we blend and that is why we thought that we should support our own local initiatives and promote them to go to higher heights. With football being a unifying factor, we thought that within the crisis context that we are living, we should do something to keep ourselves busy, to promote our own local activities." The President explained
Mindful of PWD's last failed attempt in 1979, the Cooperative is hoping that PWD will change the record.
With over six billion FCFA in shares and total balance sheet of over seven billion FCFA plus a labour force of close to 70 staff, MitaCCUL is one of the leading cooperative credit unions within the camCCUL network.
With PWD Bamenda sponsored as part of the Union's cooperate social responsibility, MitaCCUL is reputed for financing some major projects amongst which include a petrol station (Goshen), Contracts (Road Construction), agricultural activities and other petty traders like bakery.
PWD Bamenda had their familarisation session at the Mfandena on Saturday evening after granting a pre-match press conference at the FECAFOOT headquarters in Tsinga.
