The Archbishop of Bamenda has challenged newly ordained priests to defend the truth and be ready to die for it at all times. His Grace Andrew Nkea was speaking on Wednesday 20 April 2022 during the ordaination of 19 priests at the St Joseph Metropolitan Cathedral Big Mankon.

According to the prelate, preaching love and staying loyal to the "Holy Mother" Church and her institutions are very essential to the life of a priest.
Archbishop Nkea intimated that the ordination comes at the time the truth and love seems to be in short supply in the North West Region of Cameroon with an increase in disrespect for human dignity as a result of the ongoing armed conflict. The priests majority of who are of the Archdiocese of Bamenda are thus expected to champion the campaign for the return to a more loving and truthful society.
The ordination event at the St Joseph's Centinary Piazza assembled many who witnessed commission of 17 who will serve in the Archdiocese of Bamenda, One in the Archdiocese of Garoua, and One for the Friars Minor Capuchin.
