The lifeless body of another transporter has been deposited at the mortuary of the Bamenda Regional Hospital with a wound suspected to be from a bullet.. www.hilltopvoices.com gathered that the remains of Penn Clovis arrived the regional health facility from the Nkwen District Hospital (PMI) where he was rushed to for first aid. He had earlier been seen helpless at the Mile 5 neighbourhood in Nkwen Bamenda III subdivision by a commercial bike rider who is said to have rushed him to PMl.
Our sources at PMI say Clovis (late) had a fresh wound on his thigh through which he had lost much blood before arriving the hospital.
Neighbours at his mile 3 Nkwen say he left the house in the early hours of this Monday 18 April 2022 with his motorcycle with which he does commercial transportation but the "good Samaritan" bike rider who rushed him to PMI found him without the motorcycle. The neighbours described him as a calm and caring young who could harldy hurt a fly.
"He was a very good boy taking care of his younger ones here and others. I don't even know what took him to mile 5 because he has always been telling me that he doesn't go that way. Only today that he is there death visited him. This is really bad." A neighbour reacted to Hilltopvoices.
Hilltopvoices can not independently confirm if the wound on his thigh was from a bullet or a sharp object. However, it is certain that those who caused the wound went away with his motorcycle that has not been seen till press time.
It is the second incident in about two weeks that a transporter is murdered around the area. Before the case of Clovis, Tamasang, a taxi driver was murdered at the same community by unknown individuals and his taxi taken away. Tamasang was buried on Saturday 16 April 2022 and in less than three days Penn Clovis is killed again.
