Subject: National President Of the Cameroon Journalists' Trade Union (CJTU) Visits North West Region.
The National President of the Cameroon Journalists' Trade Union (CJTU), Marion OBAM ended a day's visit to the North West Chapter on July 22, 2022. Accompanied by the Union's Secretary General, Hilaire HAMEKOUE, she was received in audience by North West governor, Adolphe Lele Lafrique and the Regional Delegate of Communications, Njike Celestine before holding a working session with members of the North West chapter in Down Town, Bamenda.
The governor told the visiting President of the CJTU, Marion Obam that her recent election to the helm of the Union is a blessing because women are closer to God with hearts that easily pardon . He hailed her courage whose outing in Bamenda helps matters in news reporting with facts on-the- spot in sensitive times unlike those with messages from a distance that only deconstruct years of construction efforts.

The governor featured the uniqueness of the region that requires wisdom and the grace of Gods guidance to manage what he described as the crucial and difficult transitional period of the ongoing crisis rocking the region. He inspired practicing journalists to be professional and stay neutral in reporting the complexities of the crisis.
The National President of the CJTU told the governor about the vision of her leadership, summed up in the promotion of credible, responsible and patriotic journalism practices. She stated the commitment to make the use of English and French effective during her tenure and hoped for a better future for the CJTU with her, as the first lady in the 20 -year lifespan of the Union to become the National President.
During a meeting with members of the Union, the chapter President, Comrade Nji Ignatius congratulated the National President on her elections and requested for opportunities for North West chapter members in areas of training and fellowships.
In response, Marion Obama reaffirmed her commitment to promote bilingualism within the Union and enhance the working conditions of media professionals across the country with special consideration for the North West region suffering security challenges.
Curtains dropped on the visit with a family meal offered by the North West chapter of the CJTU.
