The first candidacy for the March 12 2023 Senatorial elections in the North West Region has been announced. 46 years old Chima Ernest of the Cameroon People Democratic Movement (CPDM) made public his intention to run for Senate during a press briefing in Bamenda on Sunday 15 January 2023.
"As you know, the Head of State H.E. President Paul Biya and guarantor of the constitution, on Friday January 13, 2023 convened the electorate for the senatorial elections. I find it incumbent as Chima Ernest after so much reflection and in response to people across the board, I feel humbled to declare my candidature to serve the people in particular and the North West Region in Mezam Division general as Senator in the next mandate of elected senators." Chima Ernest told www.hilltopvoices.com
The promoter of Chima International company also involved in waste management told the press that just as he has been engaging the youth in his company, he hopes to be a candidate for the youth.
"As a grassroot militant of the ruling CPDM who has monitored the political scene I think it is necessary if young people are given the opportunity to represent their aspiration and plight in the Upper House of Parliament." He added
To demonstrate his areas of leadership away from his party where he was youth leader, Chima noted "It is commonly said, cleanliness is near to Godliness, and if we do not live in a clean and healthy environment, even our meagre resources would be spent to treat ourselves of ailments caused by such. It is for that reason that I took upon myself on behalf of some young people to give to a new face in our town when denizens were competing space with garbage.That exercise has not stopped It is going to continue even after my election in to the Senate. Chima explained
Chima Ernest who is currently a CPDM sub section president in the Mezam one Section hopes to be one of seven elected Senators from the North West representating Mezam Division.
