In a ceremony held on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024, Chenwi Gilbert Mzeka, the proprietor of Big G VIP Hotel and Bar in Bamenda, was recognized for his exceptional efforts in empowering young individuals affected by the on going armed conflict in the North West and South West regions.
The prestigious award was presented by the North West Regional correspondent of My Media Prime TV, Charles Kebua, in acknowledgment of Mzeka's dedication to philanthropy, youth empowerment, and economic advancement in the region.
Amidst challenging circumstances that have led to the closure of several businesses, Mzeka's resilience and commitment to uplifting the community have not gone unnoticed. The viewers of My Media Prime TV and journalists in the North West Region commended Mzeka for his bravery, reliability, and philanthropic endeavors, which have made a significant impact on the lives of many.
During the award ceremony attended by the Divisional Officer for Bamenda III, Ayuni Austin Sakah, Mzeka was encouraged to continue his commendable work within the subdivision and to bring joy to the numerous internally displaced persons (IDPs) residing in Bamenda III. As a gesture of his ongoing support, Mzeka distributed essential items such as rice, oil, buckets, and Maggi to 50 IDPs, urging them to remain resilient in the face of adversity.
Expressing his gratitude for the recognition, Mzeka humbly accepted the award and reaffirmed his commitment to serving the marginalized in the community. He emphasized his dedication to supporting those in need and expressed his determination to continue making a positive difference in their lives.
The event was further enlivened by captivating performances from local groups such as the Mbagalum and the Mansoh Dance group of Mbessi, adding a touch of cultural vibrancy to the celebration. As Big G VIP undergoes restructuring with plans for a new building near the main road at S-bend in Nkwen, Mzeka remains focused on providing exceptional comfort and relaxation for patrons through the hotel, bar, swimming pool, lounge, and business facilities housed within the complex.
