Bamenda, March 18, 2022: The community of Fanji in Bamenda came together in a spirit of unity and progress at the annual New Year come together organized by the Fanji Cultural and Development Association (FACDA).
The event, held at Foncha Street Nkwen, brought together members of the Fanji community in Bamenda to reflect on their ongoing projects and address key issues affecting their homeland.

The highlight of the gathering was the evaluation of the palace reconstruction project, a significant initiative aimed at preserving the cultural heritage of the Fanji people. Pezumbia Philip, the representative of the task force overseeing the project, shared that the reconstruction efforts are well underway, showcasing the community's commitment to preserving their rich cultural legacy.

In addition to discussing the palace project, the community also deliberated on the security situation in Fanji amidst the ongoing armed conflict in the North West Region. Encouragingly, reports indicated that the security situation in Fanji has shown improvement, with minimal cases of harassment reported. This positive development was welcomed by all present, signaling a step towards stability and peace in the community.
Pa Ngufor Peter, a revered figure within the community and an agriculture promoter, took the opportunity to address the gathering. Expressing his desire to visit Bafanji in the coming days, he urged farmers to seize the upcoming planting season with renewed vigor and dedication. Emphasizing the importance of agriculture in driving economic growth and sustainability, Pa Ngufor Peter called on his fellow villagers in Bafanji and his host community in Nkwen to work together towards peace and development.
