A delegation from Upper Bayelle I Quarter has expressed gratitude to the Lord Mayor of Bamenda III Council for the collaborative efforts in realizing various community projects during a thank-you visit on Sunday, April 7, 2024.
Nji Musa, speaking on behalf of the quarter, highlighted the transformative projects undertaken, including road grading to GBHS Bayelle, classroom construction at Government Bilingual Primary and Nursery School Upper Bayelle, and rehabilitation of water provision at Nkwen District Hospital. Musa expressed immense joy for the positive impact these initiatives have had on the community.
"There is so much joy in our hearts today for the many developmental activities you have brought to us. The road from Family Pharmacy to the New Road leading to Up-Station, we say thank you, the road from Mile Four through Bamenda III Council to New Road we say thank you, the road behind PMI Nkwen to New Road we say thank, for the water projects, we say thank you. Thank you, thank you and thank you. We cannot enumerate all your good works, in all you have touched many lives and we pray God should bless you bountifully and keep you longer in this position." The delegation headed by Councilor Azinue Ngufor also took the opportunity to propose additional projects, such as extending the Bamenda 3 Council water supply into Upper Bayelle, constructing speed brakes along newly tarred roads, and jointly rehabilitating earth roads and culverts in the quarter.
Symbolic gifts, including a traditional bag, cup, walking stick, and chair, were presented to Mayor Fongu Cletus Tanwe as tokens of appreciation.
Mayor Tanwe expressed gratitude for the gesture, describing it as a source of motivation. He acknowledged the collaboration shown to workers on ongoing road projects and emphasized that development often entails temporary inconveniences. He thanked all those contributing to the area's development and pledged to continue working in partnership with the community.
The visit underscored the importance of collaborative efforts between local government authorities and communities in driving sustainable development initiatives; a practice Mayor Fongu Cletus says is at the center of development in Bamenda III.
