The Coordinating Unit of Associations of Persons with Disabilities (CUAPWD) has hosted staff from the Christian Blind Mission (CBM) Country and Regional Offices for an assessment session. The session according to a post by CUAPWD on their #Facebook page aimed to evaluate CUAPWD's capacities across several key areas vital for effective service provision and advocacy for persons with disabilities (PWDs).
The assessment focused on CUAPWD's strengths and weaknesses in governance, human resource policy, financial management, networking and coalition building, advocacy, procurement, external relations, and sustainability.
The CBM team provided recommendations to help CUAPWD enhance its operations and better serve the disability community. These suggestions are intended to strengthen the organization's ability to meet the needs of those it supports.
In addition to identifying areas for improvement, the CBM team acknowledged the significant progress CUAPWD has made in promoting disability-inclusive practices. They encouraged CUAPWD to continue building on these achievements to further improve the lives of persons with disabilities.
