Samuel Ngum has officially assumed the position of Director of the Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services (CBCHS). He took office during an induction ceremony on Saturday 27 July 2025 during a massively attended event at the Nkwen Baptist Church.
Ngum, who has a rich history with CBCHS, including roles ranging from pharmaceutical health assistant to various key administrative positions has expressed his commitment to advancing the health services in line with digital advancements. The new director brings over two decades of experience within CBCHS, including nine years in administrative roles, most recently at Etoug-Ebe Baptist Hospital in Yaoundé.
"We are not reinventing the wheel; we are adding more grease to keep it rotating better," he said while highlighting the importance of maintaining and building on the partnerships established by his predecessor, Prof. Tih Pius Muffih.
Speaking during the event, Ngum acknowledged Prof. Tih Pius Muffih as a mentor and a valuable resource who has shaped his career. He assured those present that Prof. Muffih would continue to offer his guidance and experience to the organization.
During the ceremony, the Chairman of the Cameroon Baptist Convention, Yusimbom Mkong highlighted the sacred nature of the occasion, reminding everyone of their divine stewardship and the importance of courage and trust in God in fulfilling their responsibilities.
Leaders within CBCHS offered words of encouragement to the new Director Samuel Ngum, indicating the need for humility and dedication. They reassured him, saying, "When God appoints, He equips," and urged him to focus on serving for the glory of God.
A representative from a partner organization, Christian Blind Mission (CBM), expressed anticipation for continued collaboration with CBCHS under Samuel Ngum's leadership.
"We count on the new director to share our vision with CBC Health Services," and expressed optimism for the next 50 years of partnership." Fon said
The Executive President of the CBC, Dr. Nditemeh Charlengman, used the event to challenge Samuel Ngum to uphold the standards of truth, justice, and fairness, and to lead with love even towards detractors, highlighting the high expectations for the new director's tenure.
