Shalom University Institute Bamenda has signed a partnership agreement with Institut Universitaire de la Pointe (IUP) of Bafoussam. The agreement was formalized in a ceremony held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the Shalom University campus in Upstation, Bamenda, North West Region of Cameroon.
The partnership signing marked a new chapter in academic collaboration, with Shalom University Institute represented by its Founding President, Dr. Shei Claude Nfor, and Institut Universitaire de la Pointe by its Vice Chancellor, Dr. Lukong Hubert Shalanyuy. This partnership according to Shalom University Institute authorities aims to expand educational opportunities and provide enhanced academic pathways for students of both institutions.
Under the terms of the partnership, students from Shalom University Institute will from now moving forward pursue their Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD programs with mentorship from state universities within Cameroon and beyond. Notably, the University of Bamenda, the University of Douala, and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana are among the institutions providing this valuable mentorship.
Spesking during the event, Dr. Shei Claude Nfor expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership explaining that the agreement opens up new horizons for SHALOM University students to benefit from the expertise and resources of renowned universities. He is enthusiastic that this will enhance the quality of education his University Institute will provide and ensure the students are well-prepared for global challenges.
Dr. Lukong Hubert Shalanyuy also highlighted the importance of the collaboration, emphasizing the mutual benefits and the potential for academic growth. According to him, partnering with Shalom University Institute will create an environment of academic excellence and provide his students with broader opportunities for learning and professional development.
The partnership is designed to facilitate the mentorship of degree programs from undergraduate to doctoral levels, thereby enriching the academic experience of students at Shalom University.
As the partnership takes effect, both Shalom University Institute and Institut Universitaire de la Pointe look forward to a fruitful collaboration that will benefit their students and contribute to the broader academic community.
