Bamenda III Council Inclusive Royal Tournament 2024 enters Semi-Final stage this week

The Bamenda III Council Inclusive Royal Tournament 2024 has reached an exciting stage, with the semi-final pairings scheduled for Wednesday, 21 August 2024. The highly anticipated matches shall feature Alahlie FC vs. Nibung FC and Waterfall FC vs. Mbefi FC.

The quarter-final stage of the Bamenda III Council Inclusive Royal Tournament 2024 delivered thrilling encounters, with Alahlie FC securing a narrow 1-0 victory over Pro Squad FC Nibung. In another close contest, Waterfall FC edged past Bayelle FC with a 1-0 win. Nibung FC dominated their match, defeating Ntefinkih FC 3-0, while Olympic FC Teken and Mbefi FC battled to a 1-1 draw, with Mbefi FC eventually triumphing 5-3 in a tense penalty shootout. These results have set the stage for a promising semi-final round.

The competition, which is organized by the Bamenda III Council, is gearing up for the grand finale scheduled for Sunday, 25 August 2024. The tournament, organized at a cost of over 2 million francs CFA, has drawn attention from across Bamenda town. .
Speaking on the necessity of the competition, Mayor Fongu Cletus Tanwe emphasized that the tournament is a statutory activity of the council, aimed at engaging the youth during the long holidays and promoting the practice of sports.

 "It provides an avenue for talented youths to showcase their skills while promoting unity and healthy competition within the municipality," Mayor Fongu told the Hilltopvoices Newspaper 

What sets this tournament apart is its inclusive nature. The Mayor has ensured that the tournament involves everyone in the municipality, reflecting the council's commitment to promoting tparticipation across all sections of the community. Beyond the football pitch, the council has also implemented holiday job activities for over 100 youths within Bamenda III. These young individuals are being empowered with skills and financial support to help their families prepare for the upcoming school year.

This year's tournament marks the third edition under the council’s leadership, continuing a tradition that strengthens community bonds through sport and developmental activities. As the semi-finals approach, excitement is building in the municipality, with fans eagerly anticipating who will emerge victorious and clinch the prestigious title on 25 August.
