Bamenda III Council receives Dagao Group donated trophies, awards, medals for 2024 inclusive royal tournament

The much-anticipated trophies, awards, and medals donated by Dagao Group for the Bamenda III Council Inclusive Royal Tournament  have arrived from China.  The items were handed over to the Mayor of Bamenda III Council, Fongu Cletus Tanwe, during a special ceremony by a delegation representing the donor, Watsa Stephen of Dagao Group.
The delegation included Councilor Asafor Pauline, mother of Watsa Stephen, who expressed her joy in seeing her son support such a meaningful cause. The Dagao Group’s generous donations include a giant trophy for the tournament champions, gold and silver medals for the winners and runners-up respectively, a golden boot for the highest goal scorer, a golden glove for the best goalkeeper, and a golden ball for the best player.

The donations arrive ahead of the highly anticipated semi-final matches, scheduled for Wednesday, August 21, 2024. The first semi-final clash will see Alahlie FC face off against Nibung FC, while Waterfall FC will take on Mbefi FC in the second match. The winners of these fixtures will battle it out in the final, set to take place on Sunday, August 25, 2024.
With the arrival of such prestigious trophies and awards, the tournament has reached a new level of excitement as teams prepare to compete for top honours.

Mayor Fongu Cletus Tanwe has expressed his appreciation for the gesture, stating, "These awards represent more than just trophies; they symbolize the spirit of togetherness, inclusion, and determination. The Bamenda III Council Inclusive Royal Tournament, initially sponsored by two-time Member of Parliament Hon. Fobi Nchinda Simon, is now sponsored by the Bamenda III Council and has grown to become a major event in the region's sports calendar. The addition of these prestigious awards is sure to enhance the competitive spirit as teams vie for the grand trophy on Sunday.
