Hilltopvoices Communications Group Ltd has affirmed its commitment to supporting journalism and media safety, emerging as a primary Media partner in the Bamenda Symposium on Media and Safety.
The event, which took place on Wednesday, 30 October 2024, was organised by the Cameroon Journalists’ Trade Union (NW Chapter) in partnership with Alliance Française Bamenda, as part of activities marking the 10th International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists.
This year's symposium, held under the theme “safety of journalists in crises and emergencies,” addressed crucial issues facing journalists in the North West Region and Cameroon at large. As a leading force in media and communication, Hilltopvoices Communications Group Ltd played a vital role in the event’s organisation and execution.
In addition to crafting the visual identity of the symposium, Hilltopvoices oversaw the production of event materials and coordinated the branding of the venue, ensuring a professional and cohesive atmosphere. True to its dedication to impactful participation, the organisation also streamed the event live across its platforms, allowing a broader audience to engage with the discussion on media safety.

A highlight of the symposium was the panel discussion on “the safety of journalists in crises and emergencies,” moderated by Hilltopvoices’ own Administrator and Lead Strategist, Bakah Derick. With his extensive experience in the field and commitment to advancing journalist safety, Bakah steered a thought-provoking dialogue, highlighting both the immediate concerns and long-term strategies needed to protect journalists in high-risk situations.
