Bamenda III leaders recognised for community service at Hilltopvoices Thank You Cocktail 2024

The Hilltopvoices Thank You Cocktail 2024 shone a spotlight on the leadership and dedication of key figures in the Bamenda III Municipality. The event was a platform to celebrate those whose vision and service have transformed the community.
In his address, Hilltopvoices Administrator Bakah Derick expressed appreciation to Austin Ayuni Sakah, the Divisional Officer, Mayor Fongu Cletus, and traditional leaders. He described them as pillars of the municipality’s progress. 

“Your leadership is the bedrock of our development. Tonight, we honour your contributions and pledge to continue working alongside you for a better future,” Bakah noted.

The leaders were commended for their efforts in promoting inclusive growth and addressing challenges within the community.

According to the Hilltopvoices team, Ayuni Austin Sakah emerged is recognised for his commitment to public service and community welfare.

"As Divisional Officer, he has led initiatives such as combating illegal electricity connections, resulting in improved power management and near-complete electrification of the area. His exceptional availability and ability to communicate effectively, particularly in the conflict-affected regions, have earned him respect. By collaborating with the Mayor and Traditional rulers, he has promoted unity and driven numerous development projects." A post read on their Facebook page 

 The Mayor, in particular, was praised for championing initiatives that have improved infrastructure, education, and cultural preservation.
"As Mayor of Bamenda III Council, he has shown unparalleled dedication to improving the lives of his constituents. In 2024, his achievements ranged from road openings, promoting sports through the Bamenda III Council Inclusive Royal Tournament and agricultural promotion through farmer donations and the Agro-Pastoral Show to providing didactic materials and financial support for school children, all while maintaining one of the least corrupt and most efficiently managed councils, as confirmed by the Public Independent Conciliator's report for all 34 councils in the North West." The event also featured a cultural touch, with traditional leaders and artists celebrating the rich heritage of the municipality. Performances from musicians such as Ghetto Prince, Fanka Eric, Montanni, and Bob Ben added vibrancy to the cocktail.
