Bayelle community celebrates leader Azinue Ngufor for prestigious community service honour

The Bayelle community in Bamenda III has come together to celebrate the outstanding achievement of their leader, Azinue Ngufor, who was honoured with the prestigious Community Service Honour during the Hilltopvoices Thank You Cocktail on 17 January 2025. The event, organised by Hilltopvoices Communications Group Ltd, recognised individuals for their remarkable contributions to their communities, and Azinue’s accolade was met with overwhelming joy and support from his people.

The celebration in Bayelle earlier this week was marked by an outpouring of goodwill, with community members presenting gifts and expressing their admiration for their leader’s dedication to community service. One notable gesture came from Siyfon, a social group in the community, which presented a complete traditional outfit symbolising royalty. This symbolic gift was handed over by a delegation led by Ndiangang, also known as Lango, accompanied by three others with messages of respect and goodwill for their community.

Elder Abunde Moses, speaking on behalf of the community council, described the honour as well-deserved and a reflection of Azinue’s exemplary qualities.

“I think those who gave him the honour had God's hand on them. He is young, intelligent, elegant, and creative. He is respectful and has qualities that attract both the young and the old.” he said

Abunde assured Azinue of the community’s full support, adding that his leadership has inspired hope and unity among the people.

Nji Musa Munteseh, the Representative of the Sultan of the Bamoun people in the North West and a Quarter Councillor, emphasised that the honour was a collective achievement for Bayelle. He commended Azinue for his hard work and dedication to service to addressing the needs of the community.

“Together, we tackle the problems of our population, address quarter issues, and promote development. He works with everyone, including elders, women, and youth, and his efforts extend beyond the quarter to the municipality, where he represents us with distinction,” Musa stated.

Azinue Ngufor expressed his gratitude for the recognition and the overwhelming support from his community.

“I am truly overwhelmed by the turnout and the reception from my people. This is not just my honour; it belongs to all of us. It’s a reflection of what we can achieve when we work together,” he said.

He further called for greater collaboration among the people and expressed hope for peace in the region.

“This recognition is a call to do more for my quarter, my village, and the municipality. My greatest wish is for infighting for leadership positions and the ongoing armed conflict to subside so that we can all focus on development and creating a brighter future for our community.”
