The air on the election ground buzzed with anticipation as members of the Cameroon Association of English-Speaking Journalists (CAMASEJ) Bamenda Chapter gathered on January 24, 2025, for a decisive moment. It was election day, and all eyes were on two prominent contenders: the incumbent, Muma Jude, and the challenger, Sah Terence. By the end of the day, a new chapter was written in the history of the association, with Sah Terence emerging victorious by a margin of 40 votes to 29.
For many, the election was more than just a change in leadership. It was a statement about the aspirations of English-speaking journalists in Bamenda, who longed for renewed vigour in their professional body. As the final results were announced, applause erupted, mingled with a palpable sense of hope and expectation.
Sah Terence’s journey to this moment was anything but ordinary. A journalist with a sterling reputation, his career has been marked by versatility and an unyielding commitment to excellence. From the newsroom to the field, Sah has worn many hats, each fitting him perfectly.

In 2018, he clinched the first and third prizes in the Courage in Journalism Awards, recognition of his fearless reporting. Earlier, in 2014, he won a national competition with his book The History of the Reunification of Cameroon as Told by Old People, which documented the memories of those who had lived through one of the country’s pivotal moments. Whether through written words or spoken narratives, Sah has always sought to preserve stories that matter.
