Louis Nforbelie Ngwa is a name that comes with hope, transformation, and dedication to many in the Bamenda III Municipality. Twice honoured as one of Hilltopvoices’ Most Influential Personalities and Institutions in Bamenda III Municipality (2023 and 2024), Louis continues to inspire through his commitment to education, philanthropy, and inclusive community development. As the founder of the Nforbelie Foundation, his work reflects a deep-seated passion for creating opportunities and uplifting lives.
Central to Louis Nforbelie’s mission is the Nforbelie Scholarship Fund (NSF), a USD 5,000 annual initiative launched in 2023. This remarkable programme seeks to bridge the education gap by supporting deserving yet vulnerable students in Cameroon. For the 2024-2025 academic year, NFSF partnered with the Nkwen Cultural and Development Association (NCDA) Scholarship Board, disbursing 1,000,000 FCFA to reward academic excellence among students in Nkwen.
Furthering his commitment to accessible education, the fund directed 2,000,000 FCFA to back-to-school initiatives targeting underprivileged learners in Nkwen, Bamenda III. An additional 2,000,000 FCFA was allocated to the Pinnacle of Success Academy’s tuition subsidies scheme, rewarding outstanding academic performance while easing the financial burdens of struggling families.
The scholarship process, guided by transparency and fairness, requires personal statements and letters of recommendation, ensuring that every beneficiary is chosen on merit and need. In just one year, 63 children from Nkwen benefitted from NFSF, with over 3,000,000 FCFA invested to make education a reality for many who would otherwise be left behind.
Beyond education, Louis has shown unparalleled dedication to uplifting his community. This year alone, his contributions have included supporting the construction of the Mbelewa (Bujong) Community Hall with 1,000,000 FCFA, alongside a similar amount donated to the Menteh Presbyterian Church Project. In the face of urgent infrastructure challenges, he funded the emergency repair of the Menteh Bridge with another 1,000,000 FCFA, ensuring safer movements for residents.
His commitment to sustainable development extended to water accessibility, where he contributed USD 1,000 to the DMV Nkwen Water Programme. Louis also championed women’s empowerment by sponsoring the Nkwen Women Empowerment Conference with 200,000 FCFA and pledging an additional 500,000 FCFA to further their initiatives.
Louis Nforbelie Ngwa’s influence transcends financial contributions. He has cultivated a culture of hope and unity, encouraging individuals and institutions to come together for the greater good.
