The past six months have been a period of restructuring for the South West North West Women's Taskforce (SNWOT) a leading peacebuilding coalition of women-led organizations and women leaders in Cameroon.
Following a successful AGM that held in January in Bamenda, the Taskforce today announced the commencement of a successful and sustainable strategic restructuring process. This initiative aimed to strengthen the coalition's capacity, enhance its impact, and ensure its continued relevance in the evolving peace and security landscape of Cameroon.

SNWOT has been instrumental in contributing significantly to ending the ongoing Anglophone crisis through humanitarian interventions, human rights, peacebuilding and community development activities at local, regional and at national levels. Over the past eight (8) years, SNWOT has witnessed significant progress in Gender, Conflict transformation and Peacebuilding programming in conflict affected communities in the North West and South West regions of Cameroon.
However, we also recognize the need to adapt and address emerging challenges and maximize our collective impact through innovative and impactful narratives and contributions in this Peacebuilding spectrum in Cameroon.
Thus, this restructuring process is driven by our commitment to enhance organizational effectiveness, streamlining our structures and processes (Administrative Procedures and Manuals, Conflict of Interest documentation) improve efficiency and resource allocation while strengthening collaboration and partnerships with member organizations, government entities, international partners, and other stakeholders. The restructuring process involved a comprehensive assessment of the coalition's current structure, programs, and operational modalities and putting the new structure and strategic plan into action, including capacity building and resource mobilization efforts.
The AcHoc Committee was committed to a transparent and participatory process, ensuring that all voices were heard and considered. We believe that this restructuring will position SNWOT to be even more effective in its mission to promote peace, security, and women's empowerment in Cameroon.
To end the process, elecions were planned for national and regional positions. These were supported and coordinated by the Elections Committee headed by Dr Mrs Agbor Madaline and Committee members Dr Ramatu Abdu, Madam Sophie Fon Ngassa and Madam Ngome Priscilia.
We therefore invite our members, partners, and the wider community to join us on this journey currently being steered by the members pictured above.
The Board of Directors are Mrs Omam Esther Njomo (Vision Bearer), Dr Mrs Agbor Magdaline, Mrs Beatrice Ndefon, Madam Chambi Julie and Madam Bolima Nancy.
We are confident that together, we can build a more peaceful and just future for all Cameroonians while contributing significantly to ending the ongoing Anglophone crisis.
Sincerely.
