Lenten Call to Action: Amplifying Women's Voices for Peace in Cameroon

As we observe International Women's Day today, we're reminded of the devastating impact of conflict on women in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon. The ongoing crisis has disproportionately affected women, leaving them vulnerable to violence, displacement, and trauma.

As people of faith, we're called to be instruments of peace and reconciliation. This Lenten Season, we're compelled to amplify the voices of women affected by the conflict, demanding that their perspectives and experiences shape the path to peace.

In line with UN Resolution 1325, which recognizes the critical role of women in conflict resolution and peacebuilding, we urge:
1. Immediate cessation of hostilities: Stop the violence and create a conducive environment for peace talks.
2. Inclusive peace negotiations: Ensure women's participation and representation in conflict resolution processes.
3. Support for women-led initiatives: Empower local women's organizations to drive peacebuilding and reconciliation efforts.

Let us unite in prayer, action, and advocacy to:

- Amplify women's voices for peace
- Demand inclusive peace negotiations
- Support women-led peace initiatives
